Kanina bumiyahe ako sa jeep, journeying through a busy thoroughfare in Manila. I was so surprised na 'yung jeep na sinasakyan namin e' bumubuga ng very, very black smoke. Ang masama pa is malapit ako doon sa tambutso (exhaust pipe) ng jeep. It was very disturbing so I decided na bumaba na despite malayo pa ako sa destination ko (which is our house, at about 500 to 750 meters away).
The whole day nasa labas ako, exposed to the emitted smoke from the vehicles. Siguro iyon 'yung nadulot sa akin ng pagkahilo and add the fact na napakainit pa kanina--even the winds are strong and cold. Kapansin-pansin rin na medyo foggy around the metropolis.
Unit-unti na nga nating nararamdaman ang harmful effects ng global warming, as three out of five Filipinos say na they're feeling it, according to a survey released recently. May panahon pa tayo para kahit papaano mabawasan ang masamang epekto nito sa ating lahat.
